SF Beer Week 2014 Approaches

Posted by GPGarry | Posted in Drink Events, Food Events, Nightlife | Posted on 02-02-2014

Anyone who knows craft beer knows that Northern California, the Pacific Northwest, and the West Coast in general are the original hubs for American craft beer culture. It is only fitting that one of the countries best craft brew events, SF Beer Week, would be held in San Francisco.

From February 7th through 16th, the San Francisco Brewer’s Guild will be presenting SF Beer Week 2014, a veritable beer extravaganza taking place at various venues throughout the city. Not only will there be an opportunity to try out just about any  style of  beer imaginable, but there will also be meet and greets and discussions  with prominent brewers, food pairing events, demos, and educational classes on beer and brewing.

Check out the official website for SF Beer Week 2014 for a full listing of events, participating breweries, and more.

Beats For Boobs Event This Saturday

Posted by GPGarry | Posted in Drink Events, Festivals, Food Events, Music Events | Posted on 19-01-2014

If there are two things that we at Party Travel Hotspots’ SF Lowdown love (and just about everyone in their right mind loves for that matter), it would be beats and boobs. For this reason, the 10th annual Beats For Boobs event going down this Saturday, January 25th at Mezzanine is definitely right up our alley. The event will start at 7 PM and go until 2 AM, and will feature music, art, fashion, food, drinks and more. Proceeds will go to support local breast cancer organizations, making this a party with a conscience and a cause worth fighting for.

If you are wondering exactly what to expect, there will be music by local DJs such as shOOey, Atish, and Kimmy Le Funk, and art by Christa Grenawalt and Nick Myerhoff. There will be performance art, including an aerial performance by Chloe Marvel Light, a dance show by the Solar Flare Light Dancers, and the Dhol Rhythms of Non Stop Bhangra bringing their unique stylings to the proceedings. A few of the fashion labels to join in on the festivities will be Warrior Within, Milena, Silver Lucy, and Wabi Sabi Couture. Food will be provided by Takko, Sauce, and The Cake Gallery, and there will also be hair and makeup artists on-site to get you looking your best.

For more information on the event and to purchase tickets, please check out the official website. Remember, this is all for a good cause, and those affected by breast cancer will greatly appreciate your support.

Free Waffle Wednesdays at Capitol One 360 Cafe

Posted by GPGarry | Posted in Food Events | Posted on 05-01-2014

If you love good waffles and things that cost no money and you live in the Bay Area, we have just the event for you in Free Waffle Wednesdays, held on the first Wednesday of every month at Capital One 360 Café in SF’s Financial District from 9-11 AM, or while supplies last.

For January 2014, the event is being held on Wednesday, January 8th, due to New Year’s Day having been the first Wednesday of the month, so you can still take advantage of the tasty waffle treats to be had for this month. There is a different type of waffle served at each event, with this month’s being the classic vanilla with Nutella. Past waffle offerings have included maple bacon, salted caramel, and TCHO chocolate.

For San Francisco foodies looking for breakfast on the cheap, it doesn’t get any cheaper than this, so be sure to hit up 360 on Wednesday for that scrumptious waffle goodness.

“Gourmet East Bay” 2013 This Saturday

Posted by GPGarry | Posted in Drink Events, Food Events, Music Events | Posted on 31-10-2013

This Saturday, November 2nd, foodies in San Francisco will have reason to celebrate as “Gourmet East Bay” will be hitting the city for 2013. Taking place at the Broadway Plaza shopping center in Walnut Creek, the event will feature 20 of the East Bay’s finest eateries offering up the best cuisine on their menus. There will also be eight featured wineries from Livermore, Napa, and Lodi, a featured brewery (Ale Industries), and Steeltown Coffee & Tea will be offering up the caffeinated goodness.

There will be spirits vendors mixing up fine cocktails, live music, and a raffle and silent auction featuring some quite exciting and lucrative prizes. On top of everything else, proceeds will go to support the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano and Project Open Hand, making this an event with a conscience.

Tickets go for $60-$70, which is not a bad price at all considering the quality of food and drink to be available at this event. If you live in the Bay Area and love great cuisine and libations, you will not want to miss Gourmet East Bay 2013, taking place from 7:00-10:00 PM on November 2nd.
